6.1 Biography

WATER FEATURE FILMS is an independent film production company set up by Steven Benedict in 2023.

Based in Dublin, Ireland, the aim is to make short films, feature films and television shows. Water Feature Films is also available to serve as a co-producer and executive producer on European and international projects.

Water Feature Films’ first production is the award-winning short film, A Lady of Paris.

Honoured with Best Script at the UK Film Festival, London, A Lady of Paris tells the story of a little dog, Paris, trying to help Lily, an elderly lady with dementia, get through Christmas.

Starring Rosaleen Linehan as Lily, A Lady of Paris is a story about caring. Lily cares for her best friend, Paris, and Paris cares for her best friend, Lily. It is a story about remembering and forgetting, happiness and sadness, old age and youth, friendship and loneliness.

STEVEN BENEDICT

Steven Benedict is a multi-award winning filmmaker. Steven lectures at the National Film School of Ireland, where, among other subjects, he teaches on the Masters in Screenwriting program.

Steven also curates his own website, www.stevenbenedict.ie, which hosts over 400 podcasts as well as several video essays. In addition, he is a regular contributor to RTÉ radio’s art program, Arena.
